You will be picked from your coastal hotel and driven to Tsavo East, the largest national park in Kenya. The drive will take approximately 3 hours. Upon entering the park, you will notice the limitless flat and dry earth, which will kick-start your adventure. You will spend the entire morning looking for wildlife in Tsavo’s semi-arid to arid habitat, fed by the confluence of the Tsavo and Athi River, forming the Galana River. Alongside the wildlife attractions, you will also see the Yatta Plateau on the horizon, billed as the world’s largest lava flow, followed by lunch at a hotel recommended by your driver. After lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive to appreciate Tsavo’s scenic views. Tsavo is known for being an unforgiving place where animals crowd into smaller spaces to access water and habitat, making them more susceptible to predators. Later, we will unwind from the game drives, exit the park, and proceed to coastal Beach, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Itinerary

Day Trip 5am pick up time for 2.5 hours drive to Tsavo

The Tsavo East National Park safari tour starts with a pick up from your point. We will enter the Tsavo East National Park from Bachuma Gate. Start your morning game drive to see the huge herds of red elephants and the Big Five. Tsavo East is famous for large herds of zebras, giraffes, buffalos, rhinos, gazelles, impalas, maneless lions, and hyenas, among many others . Continue with the game and visit the Aruba Dam, where most animals come to drink and graze, especially in the dry season.

Enjoy your packed lunch in the jungle.

Later, proceed for the second game drive, looking for elusive wildlife, including hippos and leopards.

At 4:00pm, start the drive back to Mombasa with an en route game drive.
